Susi + Carl – Tashua Knolls, Trumbull, CT Wedding
June 13th, 2009You will remember Susi & Carl from one of our last NYC engagement sessions – the one with the cool back lights and the steamy cab shots! Well, it was a rainy Friday afternoon, but it couldn’t dampen our spirits as Vicki and I set out to capture this amazing couple on their wedding day. Susi and Carl are so much fun to be around, and once again we were blessed to have a couple forget about our cameras and just be themselves. We’ll let the pictures do the talking (with just a little dialog of course!).
Venue: Tashua Knolls, Trumbull, CT
Minister: Rev. Warren Brandt
Rabbi: Rabbi Steve Mason
Florist: Licari Floral Design
Band: Jamie’s Junk Show
Just a few of the fantastic details Vicki took while Susi was getting ready. Not only were the shoes adorable, but they had a little surprise underneath!
Love this mirror shot!
Susi getting ready at her parent’s house.
Susi being buttoned up in her beautiful wedding gown. We think the look on her face is priceless!
At first it was just Carl and I at the hotel, and I asked him jokingly if he had ever had a personal paparazzi following him around. Carl was great at allowing me to take some candid moments.
Carl chatting on the phone. We think this looks somewhat like a presidential shot
Once we were all at Tashua Knolls, Vicki and I set up Susi and Carl for a “first look”. Not only did we have to keep them from seeing each other, but also from being seen by curious friends and family looking for a sneak peek! What follows are the first moments they saw each other in their fabulous wedding attire.
We couldn’t have asked for a better reaction!
And the soon to be husband and wife seem pretty pleased as well.
We love the way they are communicating in this one!
Carl had shown me the socks he was planning to wear at the hotel, socks that matched the bridesmaids dresses to a “T”. We made sure we got the shot!
And Susi’s bouquet was not only gorgeous, but matched his socks as well ;p
Susi’s proud father walking her down the aisle.
While Carl and his father (the minister of the ceremony) looked on with beaming smiles.
The unveiling!
What a great smile!
Carl breaking the glass at the end of the ceremony. We smile every time we see their reactions
The first kiss as husband and wife.
Seriously, how much fun are they having?
We love this one – fun,fun fun!
The band was fantastic and got the night off to a rocking start.
Their first dance.
Followed by a dip. Carl is an expert!
Finally, towards the end of the night, the rain slowed down, and Susi and Carl agreed to let us whisk them outside for some really cool shots.
We said Carl is an expert at this sort of thing didn’t we?
And a gentlemen as well. So much fun!
The Horah! This is one of our favorites of the night.
And a jubilant end to a perfect (rain and all!) day.
Susi and Carl, thank you for choosing us to be there on your wedding day. We had an incredible time and couldn’t think of a better way to spend a rainy friday than with two sweet and fun people who care so deeply about one another. May the rest of your days as husband and wife be filled with as much fun and joy as you had on your wedding day.
xoxo

Looked like it was a fun wedding. I really like the breaking of the glass photos, and how his socks match their flowers. There were some really great moments in this wedding and you did a great job finding them all. Nice work Vicki & Erik!!

SOCKS! This looked like a fun shoot, from this side of the computer. The No Peeking shots are magical. Her ace when getting zipped into the dress is like…tah dah…I AM gorgeous and the dress is Not Too Tight. Yay! what fun. They should treasure these pictures of a special day.
