I *Heart* Summer!

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

I am SO in love with this weather…well, most days. I love the sunshine and the warm rainy days. I can’t wait for it to rain when I have a day off so I can drag the husband outside to play. The clouds have been amazing this week – I am enamored with sun rays peeking through storm clouds. It is not good for my driving. I have had a hard time paying attention and have had a couple of close calls ; ) I am still adjusting to the humidity though – which I know isn’t much right now. I think the husband will have a huge shock when August comes and we still have no air conditioner.

I found this image that I took about a month ago. It reminds me of summer – I love it! This was the one of the funniest cats ever. He (at least I think it was male) came right on over to us and was sure ‘talking’ to us a lot!

Did I ever mention that we live in an amazingly beautiful town? We live less than a mile away from this!

Check out these ducks temping fate at the top of the falls

And lastly, we saw a family of ducks (I don’t know what kind they are, do you?). Look at those beautiful little ducklings!

Getting our Feet Wet

Friday, June 1st, 2007

I am not so good at updating this blog, I am realizing. I have been checking out other people’s blogs – people who update their blogs regularly…sometimes daily! My mother-in-law is one of those who is on top of the blog thing. You should check out her blog, and website. Besides her luscious hand dyed yarns, she says some really nice things about my photos. I am super lucky to have such amazing in-laws. I have heard so many horror stories about the evil mother-in law syndrome, and I can happily report that I can not relate! I actually love telling people this – I love seeing their confused expressions. Anyway, it’s pretty awesome having a fellow artist and AMAZING female business owner role-model. This is the real reason I married my husband . All joking aside, I have been so busy working and reading up on flash techniques that I have put aside 3 skeins of Lisa’s Blue Faced Leicester yarn (in peacock). I am waiting for a worthy project.

Speaking of flash techniques, I was second shooter for the talented Autumn of Autumn Photography about two weeks ago. I can’t even tell you how much fun I had (nerve racking at times, but definitely fun)! Autumn is just so fun and easy to work with that I couldn’t have planned it any better. I am looking forward to working more with her, and I will eventually post some of my photos.

So, I titled this entry “Getting our Feet Wet” partially because I am a total noob to the area, but also because Erik & I did just that this past Memorial Day weekend. We took a bike ride down to one of Milford’s Beaches and Erik put his feet in the Atlantic ocean for the very first time!

I was hesitant – the water is cold! But I eventually followed suit

It was pretty humid, but otherwise we couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather. Sunny and warm!

There are tons of seagulls by the beach, and I saw a lot of empty shells and half eaten fish (apparently fish heads are a delicacy).

Erik was also very interested in the shells and rocks

It is so awesome living so close to the beach! We are gonna have a fun summer for sure.
