Wake by Whispers – Shelton, CT Band Photos

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Last Sunday we were so psyched to meet up with the guys of Wake by Whispers for a photo session. They are super nice guys and Erik & I had a blast hanging out with them for the afternoon. I am dying to hear more of their music – they are a Christian Metal/Hardcore Band right here in Fairfield County. Any other hardcore fans out there? If so you should check these guys out!

Starting it off with my favorite image of the day!

For this next shot we had a guy riding by on rollerblades.

Lisa + Dan – Wickham Park, Manchester, CT Wedding Photos

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Phew am I behind in my blogging!!! I have a bunch of new things to blog and just haven’t had a minute to post. Here I am, one week later blogging about the awesome wedding of Lisa & Dan that I shot with RJT Pictures. What a fun bunch of people at this wedding! I started off with the guys – who were relaxing in their hotel room – playing cards and drinking beer!

Here is the groom dealing the cards:

Some of the groomsmen:

LD-2

We had a few minutes before leaving for the church to get some group shots. Aren’t they handsome?

LD-3

Off to Saint Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck, where I was able to capture this fun shot of the ladies walking into the church.

LD-4

The ceremony was so sweet. Here is Dan putting on Lisa’s ring!

LD-5

I love how Lisa’s veil is glowing in this one.

LD-6

Just look at Lisa’s expression.

LD-7

My favorite! Another great moment.

LD-8

Off to the reception at Wickham Park. I fell in love with Wickham Park the last time I was there for Kerri & Jay’s Wedding a few weeks ago. It is just an amazing place for a wedding, or just to visit for that matter.

I bumped into this guy sporting the veil:

Lisa & Dan had these delicious cupcakes!!

Some shots of the newlyweds:

A little bit o’ sun…

LD-13

I was curious what would happen if I converted a sun flare shot to black and white. I kinda like it! It feels like fog to me ; )

LD-14

A bit abstract…the gardens at Wickham Park are incredible. I particularly like these plants (anyone know what they are called?)

First dance:

Here is Lisa singing to “Paradise by the Dashboard Light”.

LD-18

There were SOOO many people dancing at this wedding! I found the groom’s parents outside sharing a moment ; )

Michelle + David – Newport, RI Wedding Photos

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

I love Newport, RI. I haven’t been there in years, and it was an extra special treat to go there with Rob & Kathleen of RJT Pictures to help capture Michelle & David’s wedding day.

We started off at the Hyatt on Goat Island in Newport. A beautiful hotel with some amazing views! While Rob & Kathleen were off with the Bride, I got to spend some time with David while he was getting ready for the big day.

Here is the ring bearer watching David get ready (and cartoons!):

And here is the handsome David – excited for the day to begin!

MD---2

I love this shot! David is a Police Officer, and his stature is a bit intimidating. If he pulled me over I would be scared. Good thing he was so happy and smiling all day (and is a sweet guy!)

MD---3

Off to the ceremony at St Anthony’s Church in Portsmouth. Here is the gorgeous Michelle being walked down the aisle by her Dad and brother.

MD---4

Her dress was Uh-May-Zing!! One of the prettiest dresses I have ever seen..along with the Cathedral length veil, which is one of my favorite things ever!

MD---5

The vows:

MD---6

Look at David’s expression! I love this moment.

MD---7

The kiss:

MD---8

Michelle looked so amazing I could hardly stand it. The shot on the right was a shot that Rob posed (check out his blog to see it) and I shot from a side angle. Michelle looks great from every angle!

MD---9

At the reception – the beautiful Belle Mer, I tagged along for some shots of Michelle and David. The sunset and soft light were just too much to pass up!

Loving this flare:

MD---10

My favorite of the day. I love breaking the “rules” of photography.

MD---11

And of course the amazing sunset with the stunning bride:

MD---12

Inside the setup was incredible. It looked great in the late afternoon…

MD---13

And after sunset too:

MD---15

The band, Heartbeat Dance Band, totally rocked!

MD---14

MD---16

I loooove this shot.

MD---17

The first dance. Aren’t they sweet?

MD---18

MD---19

A little more flare:

MD---20

This one cracks me up!

MD---21

Apparently David is an amazing drummer!

MD---23

Isn’t he cute?

MD---22

Michelle was loving his drumming!
MD---24

Thanks Michelle & David, and Rob and Kathleen for having me along! I had a great time as usual ; )
Be sure to check out Rob’s blog for more from the day.
