Criss, Jeff, Paris and Bones – Holiday Portraits

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Criss contacted me a while back – just after Mardi & Chris’s Wedding. Mardi is Criss’s aunt, if you can believe it ; ) For the longest time I thought they were sisters. In any case, Criss contacted me to take some holiday portraits with her boyfriend Jeff, and their two ferrets, Paris and Bones. I have been looking forward to this session for a long time! It was freezing cold, but the light and fall colors were so gorgeous.

Here they are!

Working with animals is always a challenge ; )

They don’t always cooperate

But Paris and Bones sure are cute!

These next two are my favorites!

Paris likes to climb

It was so beautiful – love the stream in the background

and this pond too

Not to mention that Criss and Jeff are adorable together

Bones was cold and a little timid

And Paris was super curious! Just look at that cute little tongue ; )

They are good buddies.

I had a blast with you all! Thanks for spending the morning with me in the biting cold – you are troopers!

Carla + Mike – Middlefield, CT Engagement Session Photos

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

This past Saturday Erik & I met up with Carla and Mike for their engagement session. We met at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, CT, which is an absolutely perfect fall location! Carla and Mike’s story began at school. No, they weren’t students, but teachers. They met briefly and didn’t get to know each other very well, until a year or so later when Carla was looking for a roommate. Her friend suggested Mike be their third roommate. Although Carla was a bit nervous about having a guy for a roommate, she agreed. And for the next year they became fast friends – watching each other date and sharing their experiences. Carla told me that she realized that she wanted to be with Mike when she was on a date with someone else, and had to leave early because she had made plans with Mike to bake cookies. How sweet is that? Baking cookies – that is one of the fun things they still do together.

And now they are getting married! Sometimes what you are looking for is right in front of you.

A little flare:

They are just so in to each other…

And they crack each other up:

It was so gorgeous at Lyman Orchards – love the reflections in the water:

Ultimate trust!

So cute!

The sky was so blue! This is my favorite:

We headed down by the apple trees and had a little fun!

The ring:

Love this one too:

As we were leaving I had to get this last image – the trees in the background were glowing in the gorgeous light!

Carla & Mike we had so much fun with you! We are really looking forward to your wedding!

Love Letter

Hi Blog Readers! Â I just wanted to share this amazing e-mail I got from Dorothy and Kevin. Â I seriously get to work with the BEST couples!! Â I received this e-mail the other day, and it just reminded me WHY we do what we do and how lucky we are to have the coolest job ever! Â

Â

Vicki and Erik,

I don’t know how to thank you enough for your amazing work on our engagement photos! When Kevin and I saw our engagement photos for the first time yesterday, we both almost cried. You managed to take the love we have for each other and infuse and reflect that in all the photos that you took and the result just took our breath away. And we are not the only ones who feel that way – in fact, everyone who has caught a glimpse of the photos has voiced the same amazement as we have at their beauty and quality. They’re just…well…perfect! I can hardly wait for the wedding! And above and beyond being great photographers, you both are just great people – and to Kevin and myself, that is hugely important! Unlike some photographers who give the impression that they’re out to do a job, you truly love what you do and you care about each of your couples’ stories and about telling those amazing love stories in photos. Aside from deciding to marry each other, hiring you as our photographers is one of the best decisions we’ve made! Please accept our heartfelt thanks and please know that you’ve contributed in such a positive way to the wedding planning process and to our love story. We look forward to talking to you soon!

Love,Â
Dorothy & Kevin
