Stratford, CT Portrait Session

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

This past Sunday Erik & I met up with Stephanie, Mike and Theresa for a portrait session in Boothe Memorial Park in Stratford. What a cool park! I am thinking it will be gorgeous place to view foliage in the fall.

We started off with Stephanie and Mike against this very cool building – I love the texture on this.

I call this “Don’t Feed the Animals”

Mardi + Chris – Woodwinds, Branford, CT Wedding Photos

Here is a couple that has been together over 10 years (as the Justice of the Peace pointed out – longer than many people stay married) and are still so incredibly happy to be together. I feel so lucky that I got to be a part of their wedding day. They are one amazing couple – and their family and friends are pretty amazing as well.

Mardi started the day getting her hair done at The Body Shoppe Salon in Seymour. What a cool place! Erik and I were lovin’ the lighting and all the cool things to look at on the walls.

Look at that veil!

Erik rocked this mirror shot:

Then we went back to Mardi’s home and has a peek at the shoes and her gorgeous gown.

And her sweet little dog too.

The little ones were getting ready:

This is my favorite shot Erik captured:

Then off to take some formal pictures. We were originally planning on heading to The Kellogg Environmental Center in Derby, but when we got there it was raining. Instead, I called ahead to Woodwinds in Branford and they told me there was no rain – so we headed there.

Aren’t they stunning???

My favorite image of the day!

Then off to get married!

Such a beautiful day – no rain here!

Look how EXCITED Mardi is! I love it!

Yay! Mr. & Mrs.!

A sunset portrait of the newlyweds:

I absolutely fell in love with Woodwinds. This was my first time shooting there – and besides being an incredibly beautiful location, the staff was amazing! Especially Scott. I have never seen someone so effortlessly and AMAZINGLY coordinate a reception like this. Wow. I hope I get to shoot there again.

Check out this table shot – beautiful isn’t it? I love the centerpieces.

The cake:

The first dance:

One of the awesome bridesmaids with a polaroid camera. How cool is that?

And last, but not least, the rings!

It was extremely hard narrowing down images to post from this wedding! I wasn’t that successful at keeping it to only a few ; ) There are so many more – I will just have to post a slideshow soon!

Thank you Mardi and Chris – you were SO incredible to work with, and I can’t wait to see pictures from your honeymoon! Thank you also to Mardi’s & Chris’s friends and family for being so warm and welcoming.

Melissa + Matthew – Riverview, Simsbury, CT Wedding Photos

Last Sunday I had yet another opportunity to work with my friend Rob at RJT Pictures. It was a beautiful day – with a beautiful rain shower too (you know how I feel about rain storms…sometimes you get rainbows). A beautiful day + a beautiful couple = fun times! Not to mention working with Rob & Kathleen is always a blast.

We started off at the Simsbury Inn, then stopped at the beautiful Old Drake Flower Bridge, before ending up at the Riverview in Simsbury.

Here is Matthew looking dapper:

Melissa’s beautiful gown:

I love this shot of Melissa – she is gorgeous!

Walking down the aisle:

Love this moment:

During the vows – all smiles!

Look at this cute little guy!

LOVE this one of the flower girl and her daddy:

I so loved this cake – nice green flowers, wouldn’t you say?

First dance:

What are these little ones smiling about?

CAKE!

I had a blast, as always – be sure to check out Rob’s blog for Melissa & Matthew’s story and for more pictures!
