There is always something special and magical about having a wedding in the backyard of the home you grew up in, creating happy memories that will be with you for the rest of your life. It also seems that it would be even more perfect if the man you were marrying grew up just down the street from you, and you had known each other almost all of your lives. This ongoing story, the one shared by Elizabeth & James took place on a gorgeous May afternoon in Bronxville, and was the essence of a fairy tale romance, and wedding. When we met with Liz & her mother Mary Louise, we knew we had to shoot their wedding. The energy they share together is infectious, and everything they were describing about Liz and James’s day made it impossible to pass up. The warmth and joy that we saw during our consultation with Liz and her mother was just the start as we witnessed how sweet and caring not only Liz and James were together, but also the interactions of their friends and family. Liz’s family home was the perfect setting for their reception, with too many beautiful details to count (Vicki and I went a little overboard!), and the ceremony and church gorgeously framed the union of the bride and groom. It was all marvelously elegant, and Vicki and I still buzzing from the day, the rocking band and the jubilant crowd left home with some pretty incredible memories ourselves.

Liz and James, there isn’t much more we can say that isn’t showing in the pictures we took. It was such a pleasure being able to witness your day together, and the beginning of the next chapter in your lives. We are such you had an amazing time in Morocco!

We have some really exciting new blog posts coming your way (as shown in our “sneak preview” one post down), and it all starts with our next gorgeous couple, Caitlin + Steve! Vicki and I met with both Caitlin and Steve for a little getting ready action (and some detail shots of Caitlin’s jewelery as well as her getting all prettied up) before we headed on over to the wonderful Fox Hill Inn. We love the venue – it has so much character and locations for tons of great shots, and the staff does an amazing job of taking special care of everyone. We had really perfect light for their big day (a little cloud cover is always great for photos!), and we had such a great time photographing Caitlin & Steve! We loved their color choices (the flowers all looked perfect together), and Caitlin’s dress was incredibly elegant with such cool details (love the flowers on her dress!). Together Caitlin & Steve both looked amazing, and it was an amazing day all around!
