Kara + Andrew – Fairfield, CT Engagement Session Photos

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Kara and Andrew drove up from Virginia to meet with us for their engagement session. The plan was to meet at Sasco Beach in Fairfield at 9am on Sunday. Yes, I said 9 am! I am certainly not a morning person and need a lot of coffee to wake up. But when we got to the beach and I saw Kara and Andrew’s big smiles, and their adoring glances at one another, I was wide awake with excitement. It was raining quite a bit, so we shot for about 10 minutes at the beach before moving on to find some place dry.

I really loved the red in their umbrella – a nice color pop on this otherwise dreary day.

There are those smiles and adoring glances I was talking about!

We headed to the Fairfield Train Station for some shelter. This is my favorite shot of the day, courtesy of Erik.

We make our couples walk a lot ; )

How cute are they?

Love this one!

We were walking all over town and stopping at things that interested Erik and I. This is our favorite kind of shoot – so much variety.

Possibly my favorite ring shot ever:

I realized after the fact that this particular wall in front of the Fairfield Theater Company has been featured by many local photographers before. I think we shot it differently, and of course we had one hot couple in front of the wall!

I love piggy back ; )

Moving along to a little country style!

We really like this window and the blue curtains. They matched.

Love this shot of Kara

And one final umbrella shot!

Kara and Andrew thank you SO much for spending the morning with us! Andrew Andrew Andrew ; ) I won’t forget it. We are really looking forward to seeing you at your wedding in a couple of months.

xoxo

Deanna + Jose – West Haven, CT Engagement Session Photos

Friday, March 27th, 2009

This past Sunday Erik and I met up wIth Deanna and Jose at Savin Rock Beach in West Haven, CT. The weather was a bit on the cold side, but the sun was out to keep us warm! Although Deanna and Jose had each other for that too ; )

We started off on the rocks where Jose proposed. The clouds were gorgeous!

Aren’t they adorable?

For a couple who kept telling us how camera shy they were, they look awfully cute!

The ring – Favorite!

We walked around a bit and fell in love with the texture of this wall – and the green algae:

Another favorite!

Whatever Jose was whispering in Deanna’s ear was funny!

Love this shot that Erik captured:

Deanna was working it for me!

We get excited for tall grass every time! One of my favorite parts of the beach.

I LOVE this one! Those trees are so incredible and the bench in the middle was perfect.

We asked Deanna and Jose to climb on the rocks – they were slippery and Deanna was wearing heels, but we are glad they were such troopers!

A little sun flare as the sun began to set:

Love the reflection in this one.

We were loving the warm light!

Thanks Deanna and Jose! We had so much fun spending the afternoon with you. We can’t wait for your wedding!

Jessie + Sean – Westport, CT Engagement Session Photos

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Jessie and Sean met while working at an herb nursery. Sean was Jessie’s boss. After a few months, Sean asked Jessie out on a date, and they have been together ever since. I can only imagine what it must have been like to be around them before they started dating. When Erik & I first met them we instantly felt the chemistry between them, and it felt even more intense when we met up with them on Saturday at the Longshore Ice Skating Rink in Westport. Erik & I decided to protect our gear and our bottoms by not getting on ice skates, since we are super klutzy! Jessie and Sean were a bit nervous about falling (and us capturing it no less), but they were both so graceful – we were really impressed. We saw many people falling, but not Jessie and Sean. They were skating around like they were pro’s.

Putting on the skates:

Love this shot of Sean tying Jessie’s skates:

Skating!

So cute ; ) Jessie has the best smile.

Things started to steam up…

Seriously! Can you feel that??

Hot!

I love this one:

The ring.

I LOVE this one that Erik captured.

See what I mean about being coordinated? I was very impressed that they pulled this off – it came so naturally!

Jessie & Sean are beach people, so we made sure to take the time to go to “their” beach – Burying HIll Beach in Westport.

It was really cold – but they kept each other warm.

The light was gorgeous!

I was loving the rocks at low tide – the colors and textures.

Really gorgeous light.

There were these cool wooden posts scattered everywhere.

; )

Beautiful sunset

We found the spot where they had carved their names

Then we went to Starbucks to warm up!

They had some cuddling time

Thank you Jessie & Sean! We had so much fun with you guys. We are really looking forward to your wedding!
