Vicki and I are really excited to share with you images from Marise & Casey’s wedding, as these two are simply adorable together. It showed in the glances they shared throughout the day – they were hardly able to take their eyes off one another. They are both funny, charming and down-to-earth which made being with them on their big day feel like we weren’t even working! Beautiful Marise looked so elegant in her wedding gown and her silver Jimmy Choo’s (which she swapped out for equally hot yellow shoes after the ceremony), and her handsome groom Casey looked amazing with his yellow and blue pin striped tie and his perfectly matched boutonniere. Their ceremony at St Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield was emotional, and their reception at The Candlewood Inn had a ton of amazing details and awesome moments. Casey’s father’s speech had everyone in stitches, which was followed by a special performance complete with his name in lights, and Elvis blasting the dance floor. 2011 is set to be an amazing year – and if you have a wedding with us know that you are such a huge part of what gets us out of bed with a smile on our face, and keeps us up late at night discussing camera settings and portrait ideas. We talk a lot about how much we love everyone we photograph, and we think it is the best part of our jobs. When you get to work with people that you genuinely enjoy being around, at beautiful locations during some of the most important moments in their lives, it gives a little tickle down our backs. While the majority of our blogging in 2011 has been through the photography of newborns and babies (hooray for spring and the blossoming of life!), we are delighted to present our first wedding of the year – the stunningly gorgeous union of Melissa & Steve, and all of the details surrounding their day. From their first look on the Brooklyn Bridge, to their emotional ceremony at the majestic St. Ignatius Loyola church in Manhattan, and finishing with the blossoming trees at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and reception at the Palm House. It was all marvelously put together by Melissa and orchestrated day of by Nina Mercedes of Markz and Co., and we just got out of the way and observed. Melissa and Steve looked so amazing, and we are obsessed with Melissa’s Pnina Tornai gown from Kleinfeld. Here are some of our favorite moments of the day.

Melissa, when we met with you in your apartment in NYC a year ago, and heard you tell us about your plans for your wedding, we knew it would be every bit as beautiful as it turned out to be. Steve, we had a great time with you and your groomsmen, and know that the two of you will find the road ahead of you in California clear to travel to your next amazing moments in your lives together.

Tracy & Fabio have the distinct privilege of being the first wedding post of 2011 – an honor bestowed upon them by the fact that theirs was the last wedding of 2010! I don’t know what it is about the couples we get, but each and every one of them have a knack for looking like they are on a movie set, and these two are certainly no exception. Tracy looked stunning in her gorgeous Modern Trousseau gown, with her super fabulous fur stole, and absolutely adorable shoes. Fabio looked just as handsome as we remembered him from their killer Boston engagement session. Together, they looked just smashing! Their church too, is one of our favorites, (the view from the balcony is pretty incredible) and we had the pleasure of photographing them nearby, as well as on the beautiful grounds at the Lake of Isles at the Foxwoods resort. And we could go on and on about all of the cool details at their reception, from the fun props at everyone’s table, to the rock candy favors (which just happened to be used for something other than eating as you will see in the last shot), and the venetian table accompanied by an espresso bar. It was the best way to end the year, and we left totally pumped, loving our jobs, and super grateful that we get to do this for a living. It just doesn’t get better than that

Tracy & Fabio, thank you both for just being awesome in general, and having such a gorgeous wedding for us to photograph! We still laugh when we think of the wild golf cart ride to and from the bridge at the Lake of Isles, and get warm and fuzzy all over again looking at the photos!
