When two people who are so deeply in love that every moment they share together in front of our cameras gives us the best kind of goosebumps, we are reminded why we love our jobs so very much. And we mean job in the loosest way possible, because what we get to do day in and day out is essentially renew our vows, be present for some of the best parties around, and oh by the way, take some pictures while we are at it! We can’t begin to say enough great things about how much we love Michelle and Tyler. They are such beautiful people, inside and out, and they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. We absolutely LOVED their engagement session in Kent Falls, and we got a really good idea about how much fun we were going to have being with them on their wedding day . And it was a sweet day! From Michelle’s Manolo Blahnik’s (we have already established Vicki’s obsession with shoes, so I won’t say anything further), to her incredible wedding gown and gorgeous Flowers by Danielle, the stage was set for magic. Tyler was looking pretty studly himself (even when holding Michelle’s flowers we might add!), and the Waterview looked absolutely magnificent with the falls leaves just starting to show on the hills surrounding it. In case you will be wondering in the photos below about how we managed to sneak their rings into a fishbowl, and why there was even a fish there to begin with, all we can say is that we asked Michelle if she trusted us with their rings, and she said “Absolutely!” As for the fish itself, you just had to be there, but we over heard a little something about “Petco”, and Tyler making a new home for a goldfish, in his stomach, on a bet .

Michelle and Tyler, you guys had an incredible day, and we were so happy that we got to be on hand to photograph it all. I especially liked the chocolate fountain, and it’s pretty safe to say that if you have been reading our blog at all in the past year, you know what Vicki was going on and on about on the way home. When Vicki and I set up engagement sessions with our couples, we sometimes get to pick some of our favorite locations to work with. The area surrounding and including Burr Homestead & Pennfield Beach in Fairfield is definitely one of our favorite spots – there are so many great things to work with. Whether you have the mansion itself, or the beautiful gardens in the back, or the beach with its gorgeous views of the lighthouse, fun swing sets or really cool life guard stands, there really is something for everyone . Luckily for us, Lauren + Mat were down for a little bit of everything! They brought with them a willingness to be totally adorable in front of the camera and also a couple of things that are special to them, something we always encourage our couples to do. So what did they bring? For starters, a bocce set (something they like to do for fun, they are on a bocce team), and their adorable German Shepherd, Luna! Vicki and I left the session higher than a kite from all of the fun we had, and all of the incredible moments we had the privilege of capturing. It was an awesome day all around, and the perfect way to spend an afternoon with two really cool people .

Lauren & Mat, we had the best time with the two of you and simply loved all of the joy and incredible energy you brought to your engagement session with us! Thank you for choosing us to photograph it all .

Jen + Neal’s wedding at the Wadsworth Mansion was classically elegant, and when we look at the blog post of just some of our favorite images of the day, we have a sense that their wedding could have happened in any time period, and will certainly be just as incredible looking 100 years from now when their images get passed down from generation to generation. Jen is an accomplished photographer herself, and together, she and Neal had an amazing vision for how the day would be. It certainly got our creative juices flowing to be around other creative people, and there certainly wasn’t anything less than a ton of wonderful and amazing things to photograph…and we love Jen & Neal and their extremely sweet and loving families as well . It was just an all around magical day, and we were truly blessed to be on hand to document it all!

Jen & Neal, you two know how to throw an amazing party and host an off the hook wedding! The food was exquisite, the ceremony (which was officially the shortest and sweetest ceremony ever) was touching and emotional, and the interaction between you and your family made for some truly memorable moments. And you both looked absolutely incredible! Thank you for everything, and we can’t wait to grab lunch and talk about making pictures .
