Ana + Ricardo – Amber Room Danbury, CT Wedding Photos

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

It was another perfect day for a wedding. Sunny, but not too hot and humid. A slight breeze in the air. I caught up with the main photographer, Rob from RJT pictures, and Ana and Ricardo at St. Theresa’s church in Trumbull for their ceremony. Ana was looking amazing – her anticipation and joy were radiating!

Here is Ana, beaming, getting out of the limo:

I snapped a couple of Ana right before walking down the aisle. I love her flowers!

During the ceremony:

One flower girl “shushing” the other. The kids at this wedding were so adorable!

I love the bridesmaids dresses and flowers:

Off to the Amber Room Colonnade for the reception..and some portraits first!

How cute are they?

8

What is better than a bride willing to sit in the grass for a great portrait?

There was some AMAZING light we found! This is my favorite from the day.

Yeah – the light was incredible!

First dance….love the moment captured here..

Another fav – Ana dancing. Yes it is blurry and I love it! Reminds me of an impressionistic painting….

Hail Storm in September!

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Did anyone else see it? It was somewhat brief – and a bit freaky. I couldn’t get my camera in time to get the hail bouncing off my driveway, but I did get this one of Erik holding a handful of hail

and these of the remaining hail on my front lawn

the sky was looking ominous, but really beautiful!

4

Pretty cool stuff – I am glad I wasn’t caught outside when the hail was coming down. I imagine that would be pretty painful ; )

Katie + Jeff – Goodwin Hotel, Hartford, CT Wedding Photos

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

One of my favorite things about being a second shooter is getting a look at the “other side” of things. I see things differently in this role sometimes and I think it brings me balance in being a wedding photographer. I am always fascinated with hanging out with the guys while they get ready – it amazes me, everytime, how calm and collected the guys generally are, and really how much differently their getting ready process is. This past Saturday I was the second photographer for my friend Rob at RJT Pictures at the lovely wedding of Katie & Jeff. The day started out, as I mentioned, observing the guys getting ready. This began with a hearty breakfast, some beers, and some Chuck Norris jokes. Pretty darn funny! Eventually the guys did get dressed and were ready with plenty of time to spare!

Here is Jeff getting his boutonniere (I always have to check the spelling on that word!)

While Rob was shooting some family portraits at the church I was hanging out with Kathleen and shooting some candids – like this of one of the bride’s beautiful sisters:
