Sarah + Brad – Pound Ridge, NY Wedding
June 4th, 2009It was a glorious Saturday afternoon and Erik and I were headed to Sarah’s childhood home to photograph her, and her soon to be husband Brad And what a wedding it was! Sarah’s parents did an amazing job transforming their home into a splendid wedding venue, replete with beautiful flowers and a whimsical cupcake wedding cake. With beautiful blue skies and the sun shining, Erik and I set out to capture this wonderful couple on their wedding day and had a tremendous amount of fun in the process.
Venue: Sarah’s Parent’s Home, Pound Ridge, NY
Makeup: Cathy Lanza
Catering: Tom Devine, Ciao Catering and Events, Danbury, CT
DJ: Jimmy Dee Music Productions, White Plains, NY
Erik and I were blown away by Sarah’s incredible Melissa Sweet Gown – perfect for her outdoor wedding!
A fun mirror shot of Sarah’s make up artist framing her beautiful face.
And a wide shot of her bridal party relaxing in the background.
Sarah has such beautiful eyes, and this is one of our favorite shots of her.
The bridal party watching as Sarah is getting her makeup done.
We love the way this shot came out – there were 9 bridesmaids, plus Sarah’s mother all in the vanity room helping Sarah with her dress.
We love Sarah’s heart shaped engagement ring.
Brad had a wedding present delivered to Sarah by way of a bridesmaid, and we love her reaction. After seeing the earrings he had given her Sarah said “Yeah..I think I’ll marry him” ; )
A quiet moment before the ceremony. Doesn’t she look amazing?
Brad’s mother putting on his boutonniere.
We absolutely love this shot of Sarah and her father walking down the aisle.
Sarah finally seeing Brad!
Such a perfect day.
Love it!
The kiss
Some romantic time with the newlyweds in the family garden.
We think she looks pretty happy here, don’t you think?
Considering they were being watched by many well wishers, they both did a fantastic job of looking relaxed.
Off to the reception – Details, Details, Details! Erik’s favorite was the Raiders cake (he is a fan!). I loved all the miniature bicycles. SO cute.
It was time for the first dance. We love the movement in these next two shots.
Topped only by a kiss
Sarah’s father had me literally in tears as he sang the song he wrote for Sarah when she was a baby. Such a sweet moment.
Sarah, holding back tears.
There was hardly a dry eye in the house!
Sarah and her Dad dancing.
We love this shot – the lights adding an interesting element to their special dance.
With an emotional embrace to finish.
It was time for Brad and his mother to take the dance floor!
Brad is such a gentleman and we are sure his mother is very proud
All the ladies on the dance floor!
And lastly, the inside of the tent in all it’s glory.
Thank you Sarah and Brad, Garrett and Cynthia, and all of your family and friends! We had such an incredible time, sharing such a special day in your lives.
xoxo,
Vicki + Erik

Ok so I have so many favorites from this wedding. Let me see if I can remember them all. First, I love that mirror shot of the bride getting ready and all of the hands around the dress. I also love the overall of the ceremony. The details are all really great too. I really enjoy tent weddings and you did such a nice job capturing this one. Love all the lighting you guys captured during the ceremony. Great job!!

Woo hoo! Now it’s my turn! A Trenske tag team!! Great job Vicki & Erik!! I love the sequence of her opening the earrings, you can feel her excitement! I really like the composition in the shot with the blue flowers – it’s very much your style. Fabulous dancing shots, I love the lighting in all of them, but the one with her spinning the dress is my favorite from those. Looking forward to see you both soon and catch up!
