Laura + Justin – The Inn at Mystic, CT Wedding
June 15th, 2009Vicki and I headed up to Mystic, Connecticut on a sunny Saturday morning to photograph Laura and Justin on their wedding day. We were excited because we had such a fun and informative (Justin is a social media “ninja” – seriously folks, check out his blog) day with them during their engagement session at the Boston Common and surrounding area. They are both genuinely sweet and down to earth people who make it look incredibly easy to be in front of the camera. With these two, we knew we were in for a special day. They told us that all of the vendors they chose became their friends, and they were all top notch!
Church: St James Episcopal, New London, CT
Venue: Inn at Mystic, Mystic, CT
Florist: Diane Gaudette, Custom Floral Designs
Cake: Felicia, Felicia’s SweetFace Pastry Shoppe, Gales Ferry, CT
DJ: Michael Murray, Summer Wind Productions
Laura’s gown and shoes at the Inn at Mystic.
Laura looking beautiful here getting her makeup done – her eyes are stunning as you will see throughout the day!
Laura being helped into her gown by her two sisters.
We absolutely love this one. Laura had her own little entourage ; )
Once the family was all set helping Laura get ready, Laura finally had a chance to relax for a little bit, and Vicki was able to capture her enjoying a few quiet moments.
I caught a quick shot of Justin “twittering” some of his thoughts. It is usually a much different scene when I am with the guys getting ready. It literally takes them all of 10 minutes to be ready to go!
Follow Justin on Twitter! He is a social media guru ; )
We love the emotion in these. These three images were captured during their “First Look”. We love when couples opt to see each other before the ceremony!
The light was simply incredible for these next few shots.
Love this one, Laura’s beautiful veil with the mansion just off in the distance.
Fun!
The church was simply amazing. The amount of detail in every part of it was incredible.
Laura being snuck into the side entrance by her family to avoid being seen by their friends!
Laura’s proud father walking her down the aisle.
We love these next two shots!
The stained glass was incredible and framed Laura and Justin beautifully throughout the ceremony.
And the kiss!
One of our favorites from the day. The newlyweds had a chance to share a few private moments before the limo arrived to whisk them back to the reception.
Vicki and I were blown away by all of the details- the cake, the flowers, & the place settings were so well done and came together perfectly.
Laura’s father delivered an emotional toast – both Vicki and I had tears in our eyes.
We had the opportunity to get some more time with Justin and Laura. We get so excited when the couple is up for more pictures! We love the way this one came out, with Laura’s veil being carried by the wind.
We mentioned Laura’s stunning eyes right? Seriously, aren’t they are mesmerizing?
We were blessed to have such different changes in weather throughout the day, and we think it made for a really classic feel here.
Something about this picture keeps drawing us back in every time we see it. It was a moment in between poses, and you can see Justin on his iPhone in the background.
Laura was so great allowing us to experiment with her veil – we love how she is looking at the lens here.
Then it was time for their first dance!
And a shot of the beautiful rings (Nice work Justin!)
After everything was said and done, we will always remember this day for how absolutely perfect and incredible it was. Once again it was a delight to work with you both and we truly feel honored to have shared so many dramatic and amazing moments with you. We are so pleased to call you both friends, and thank you for treating us as guests at your wedding.
xoxo,
Vicki and Erik

Oh my goodness, what a fabulous and beautiful wedding. You were blessed with a stunning bride, which makes it so easy, of course. The shots were all so artful and these two and this wedding should be the Poster Child of what you do. The overhead shot of the table! Jacob is going to want to see this set of photos, over and over and over.
Magnificent, is all that I can say. Artist to artists, I am so happy to see how you have blossomed. Congratulations to the two of you…a perfect team. The young couple should be just so excited about these images, which are just magic.

Great use of the veil in 3 or 4 of these images. The window-lit portrait is wonderful! Yes, she does have stunning eyes, but you still had to capture them– excellent post!

Hello, this is just a random stranger who found this website by chance; I just wanted to say that these photos are all some of the best wedding photos I’ve seen and I think that they capture the emotions of the wedding superbly . The bride looks absolutely beautiful and the groom’s love for her shines in every picture. The photographer did an amazing job shooting a gorgeous wedding.

Such a beautiful wedding! You guys really captured how in love these two must be. I love the first look shots, especially him lifting up her chin – so sweet. My favorites are the one in the church with all the pews (awesome) and all the veil shots. Great job!!
