One of my favorite parts of being a “west coast transplant” in Connecticut is that I have the perfect tour guide in my wife Vicki. It is always fascinating to hear her stories about growing up and her experiences pertaining to the areas we visit, whether for pleasure or photo shoots (which are pretty much one and the same). And if you know Vicki, she loves to tell a good story if you give her half the chance .

How does this relate to our next blog post you might ask? Well for starters, the locations we photographed Pam & Frank have particular significance for Vicki and her family. Lighthouse Park is a stones throw away from where she used to spend weekends with her grandmother (who used to treat her with steak sandwiches even though she was on a fixed income), and Yale Campus has three giant, handcrafted wood doors that were built by her great grandfather. Pretty cool huh?

So when we followed Pam & Frank around for their really adorable engagement session, we were also surrounded by a little bit of history, and a whole lot of magic. Pam & Frank fit together like two peas in a pod, and it is hard not to become completely enamored with them if you spend even just a little bit of time with them. We had them climbing up walls, tiptoeing through ivy, and braving the cold water of the Sound to get our shots, and they were about as gracious as you could get throughout the entire shoot. We had the best time, and can’t wait to get together with them on their wedding day!
