Allison + Rob – Norwalk, CT Engagement Session Photos

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Yesterday I met up with Allison and Rob at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk. Allison met Rob through one of Rob’s co-workers, and they fell in love almost immediately. Within a couple of months they were talking about marriage. Now they are getting married!

It was an overcast day – which is always great for shooting! Although it did start raining almost an hour into the session, Allison and Rob were troopers. We kept shooting, until we couldn’t any longer. It was well worth it. Have a look!

We started off on these rocks – which are supposedly off limits. My philosophy is do it until you are asked to leave ; )

Love this one.

On the pier – aren’t they sweet?

My favorite! Allison reminds me of a hollywood starlet here – a little bit of Marilyn combined with some Jackie O.

A different view.

This one makes me smile ; ) Partly because I remember Allison trying to look through the viewfinder and realizing that without putting some change in, all you see is black.

Such an adorable couple!

Love the feel of this one.

On the lifeguard chair. I haven’t used texture in a while – but this one screamed for it.

They are so much fun to be around.

And of course we had to capture some fall leaves.

Allison thinking about throwing leaves at Rob…

Rob throwing leaves at Allison…

Allison kept trying to throw leaves at Rob, but they would blow right back at her because of the way the wind was blowing. It was pretty funny. They thought so too.

Walking into the fall “forest”.

Thank you Allison and Rob for spending the afternoon with me! I had so much fun with you both and THANK YOU for being such good sports with all the rain ; ) Looking forward to your wedding.

Bridget + Paulo – Oxford, CT Engagement Session Photos

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

Bridget and Paulo met on a blind date. They were both very tentative about showing up (who wouldn’t be!), but as Bridget described to me, once they saw each other they were both beaming from ear to ear. As they walked toward one another, Bridget put our her hand for a hand shake, Paulo leaned in for a hug, and Bridget ended up accidentally punching Paulo in the stomach. Could have been straight out of a movie script ; ) They both told me that they immediately knew that this was “it”.

After spending the afternoon with them last Sunday, Erik and I could see very clearly that they are a perfect match. They belong together. Their obvious affection for one another, the little glances they share, the comfort they have with one another is just – well, “it”. Erik and I had an absolute blast being around Bridget and Paulo, and we left the session with a feeling that we have gained a couple of good friends.

We met up Bridget and Paulo’s new home in Monroe (our new neighbors!) and got this shot of them with their two adorable poodles:

Then we headed to Southford Falls in Oxford, CT. This place is practically in my backyard and it is a shame that I have never been there before. It is so beautiful there and I definitely recommend checking it out if you have time.

We started off on this bridge. The colors and the reflections were just killer:

Love this shot ; )

We headed to the waterfall:

They are just so perfect together!

My favorite ; )

They are a seriously incredible looking couple!

Loving the sun flare!

Bridget was giving me some sassiness. Love it!

I told you this location is amazing. God I love fall.

Erik’s view:

The lighting was perfect.

I just couldn’t get enough of the back light!

Fav!

How cute is this? I have so many favorites ; )

The light was so golden…

We didn’t want to stop shooting!

This shot makes me happy ; )

Thank you Bridget and Paulo!! We had so much fun with you both. Thank you also for convincing us that when we do go to Paris we will also need to stop by Portugal, Spain and Italy too ; )
We can’t wait for you wedding!! Only a few months now!!

Love,
Vicki & Erik

Carla + Mike – Middlefield, CT Engagement Session Photos

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

This past Saturday Erik & I met up with Carla and Mike for their engagement session. We met at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, CT, which is an absolutely perfect fall location! Carla and Mike’s story began at school. No, they weren’t students, but teachers. They met briefly and didn’t get to know each other very well, until a year or so later when Carla was looking for a roommate. Her friend suggested Mike be their third roommate. Although Carla was a bit nervous about having a guy for a roommate, she agreed. And for the next year they became fast friends – watching each other date and sharing their experiences. Carla told me that she realized that she wanted to be with Mike when she was on a date with someone else, and had to leave early because she had made plans with Mike to bake cookies. How sweet is that? Baking cookies – that is one of the fun things they still do together.

And now they are getting married! Sometimes what you are looking for is right in front of you.

A little flare:

They are just so in to each other…

And they crack each other up:

It was so gorgeous at Lyman Orchards – love the reflections in the water:

Ultimate trust!

So cute!

The sky was so blue! This is my favorite:

We headed down by the apple trees and had a little fun!

The ring:

Love this one too:

As we were leaving I had to get this last image – the trees in the background were glowing in the gorgeous light!

Carla & Mike we had so much fun with you! We are really looking forward to your wedding!

Love,
Vicki & Erik
