Joanne + Joe – Shelton, CT Engagement Session Photos
August 6th, 2009Joanne and Joe have one of our most favorite proposal stories, ever! Joe is a lighting guru, and decided that the best way to get his point across was to use his trade to his advantage. So he set up the scene (to his success, obviously!) and had family watch guard over the generator and lights while he and Joanne just happened upon the display at the end of their stroll along the river walk in Shelton. Now they are getting married! Erik and I were excited to head back to one of our favorite spots to make pictures, and to capture these two looking gorgeous
We love the light in the background here!
Joanne has incredible blue eyes.
Super cute!
Love the fashion shoot feeling here!
A shot of Joanne’s beautiful engagement ring (nice work Joe!)
We love how these two are looking at the camera here.
Adorable huh?
We were all having fun on the bridge, with Erik and I trying not to fall off while we were shooting. God knows I am a clumsy one ; )
And we always love it when our couples are willing to go the extra mile, like doing a piggy back on some questionable footing!
Love Joanne’s hair and Joe’s great smile
These two were made for each other- a perfect fit.
Joe took the opportunity for a kiss.
Fun!
Love the sky in the background here.
And they were having fun the whole time!
We were having fun with silhouettes too.
And finally, the grand finale! Seriously, the generator alone was close to 100 pounds – it was truly a professional affair! Guys, take note, this is how you do it right
Followed by a quiet moment – love it.
Joanne and Joe, thank you so much for sharing your laughter and joy with us. Joe, it was truly special to be able to recreate “the moment” when you proposed to Joanne, and we can’t wait for your wedding!
xoxo,
Vicki and Erik

Ooh yummy – that second shot is like BUTTER! What lens is that taken with (a prime, I’m sure!)? And I love that Joe used his talents to propose – that’s awesome!

Thanks Autumn! The second shot was taken with 85mm 1.8 (at f/1.8). Yep – still my favorite lens ; )

You guys always totally rock this train bridge and this post is no exception. What a cool way to purpose – a 100lb generator!
