Erin + Rob – Avon Old Farms Hotel, Avon CT Wedding
August 11th, 2009When I met Erin and her Mom way back when, Erin’s Mom shed a few tears while looking at our sample albums. I knew I wanted to shoot the wedding! Of course I love to think our work captures the emotion of a wedding day, and translates to it’s viewers, but I also know that a big part of why Mom was crying was because she was envisioning her beautiful daughter being in her wedding gown. I know I have said this before, but I am a super emotional person. I fall in love with all the couples (and their families) we are privileged to work with, and I cry at least once at every wedding. When I meet people as emotional as I am they instantly feel like family. Erin and Rob are both extraordinary people, with families as awesome as they are – warm, sensitive, intelligent and welcoming. Erik and I had such an amazing time capturing their perfect wedding day! Be prepared for copious tears of joy!!

Vicki & Erik — These are SO amazing! I could not stop smiling while I looked at these. I love the emotions that got captured! The last shot of me with my Mom and sister is so perfect. And I love the first dance song shots and the one of us leaving the church. I also got a kick out of the one with my dad laughing at my mom and aunt while they got teary-eyed. These are all so perfect! Thank you thank you! We are so grateful you were able to capture our day! Can’t wait to see the rest of the pics

Love your getting ready shots. They are so somber and emotional. That shot of them on a bridge w/lattice (?) really pretty.

While I was looking at these, I realized that we had actually been to that church before. It has such a cool and distinct feel and you did a wonderful job capturing both the church and all of the emotional moments during the ceremony. I really dig the 2nd to last shot as well. Nice work!!

Vicki and Erik:
These pictures are terrific. It is remarkable how you captured so many emotions of the day; anticipation, nervousness, affection, pride, love, joy, excitement, and relief! You are truly talented. I can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures. I’m sure there will be other shots which capture the bittersweet memories of a mother and father marrying off their pride and joy!
On another note: you were both wonderful to work with. Your presence was so unobtrusive. I felt as if you were just members of the family taking photos for posterity. Thanks so very much for all your hard work and efforts to make Erin’s wedding photos so memorable.
