This past weekend Erik and I took the incredibly scenic drive up to Hanover, NH to meet up with Karli and Andy. It was cloudy for sure, and we were hoping the weather would hold out for us. Sure enough, as soon as we pulled up to the Dartmouth campus the rain began! Karli and Andy jumped in our car and we drove to Balch Hill to the spot where Andy proposed. We got out of the car and the rain stopped – divine intervention at it’s best ; )

Karli and Andy are one of those couples that just being around them makes you smile. The bond between them is powerful – you can feel it from miles away. The subtle looks, the smiles and giggles, and the constant hugging and physical closeness…I wouldn’t want to try to keep these two apart!

When we met with Karthik for the first time a few months back and he explained how they got engaged, our mouths dropped. It is, by far, the coolest proposal story we have ever heard. I won’t do it justice by repeating it in full here, but let’s just say it was a very well prepared and executed day-long scavenger hunt. Karthik sent Meaghan from one place to the next with elaborate clues, concluding with his proposal. And of course, Meaghan said yes! They drove down from Boston to meet us at one of our favorite location in Shelton, CT. The rain stopped just as we started to shoot!

Spring finally arrived and Erik and I took a trip to beautiful Boston, MA to spend the afternoon with our new friends! Laura and Justin told us that one of the reasons why they chose us as their wedding photographers is that they felt like they were hanging out with old friends the night of our initial meeting. We certainly felt the same way, and we felt like we picked up where we left off – the fun continued walking around the Boston Common and beyond. Justin is friendly and funny, and works more / sleeps less than I do. He certainly twitters more than anyone I know ; ) Laura is sweet and down-to-earth, and although she claims she is not photogenic, we beg to differ! Here are some of our favorite images from our afternoon together.
