Amaris + Brendan – Meriden, CT Engagement Session Photos

Saturday, December 13th, 2008

I had an incredible birthday last Sunday. It snowed, and Erik & I met up with Amaris, Brendan and Sugar at Hubbard Park in Meriden. From first contact I knew I would love these two. In fact the first time Amaris contacted me I adored her name – it sounds so beautiful when spoken! When we all met I liked them them just a little bit more – both Amaris and Brendan are sweet, gentle souls. The kind of people that just by being around them you feel like a better person. Erik & I feel so lucky to have spent the afternoon with them and that they are a part of our lives. Have I mentioned that we we have the privilege or working with SO many amazing couples??

Amaris and Brendan met in high school. They were friends first, which quickly turned in to more. Brendan was the first person Amaris kissed – and he will be the last. That makes me tear up a bit just thinking it. These two just belong together ; )

The past few weeks Amaris and I have e-mailed each other and she told me about their new puppy – Sugar. Then she sent me a picture and I almost fell on the floor! Needless to say, I fell in love with Sugar too. Just look at that face!!

We got some “family” shots of the three of them.

And another by the waterfall in the park.

I will warn you now, I have too many favorites from this session. I adore this shot!!

Erik’s view:

They are seriously a stunning couple – see how well they fit?

Sugar was making friends:

Happy Holidays!

A walk in the snow:

Love this one too. There are so many interesting spots at Hubbard Park.

We headed to this gazebo-type structure that has some nice columns

Erik’s view – love this moment.

Amaris’s Mom came to take Sugar home. I think she wanted to stay with us ; )

One of the foot bridges in the park – the light was just amazing.

And this other bridge – this was our favorite spot of the day.

This is my favorite from the day without a doubt!

We headed back to the lake

; )

And the ring!

Amaris and Brendan thank you so much for spending the day with us – and for the thoughtful birthday gift! You guys are just amazing , and we are so excited for the wedding!!

Love, Vicki & Erik

Kristine + Maciej – Madison, CT Engagement Session Photos

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

On Saturday Erik & I had a very COOL engagement session with Kristine & Maciej at Hammonasset State Park in Madison. Or should I say a COLD engagement session – but we made it through and got some awesome images. Kristine and Maciej are serious troopers! They weren’t wearing jackets, and Kristine made it through the entire session with a relatively thin long sleeve shirt. I was impressed ; ) I was all bundled up with many layers of clothing, a jacket, a hat, scarf and gloves and my hands were still cold. The chill in the air forced them to stay close to one another – which ended up being an awesome thing.

Kristine and Maciej are one of those couples that when you are around them it is nearly impossible not to smile. I felt that way the first time we met, and again when we spent the afternoon with them at Hammonasset. How cool is our job that we get to spend a couple hours with a fun, in love couple!! Even in the cold.

On the beach we started with some “activity” to warm up.

The looks they give each other are priceless.

The ring! Ever since Erik lost his wedding band at the beach I get extremely nervous…

Yeah, they are a stunning couple!

I asked Kristine to give me a little “sassiness” and she told me that Maciej is better at it….so here he is looking handsome!

Erik doing the splits. It is always funny to see ourselves in action ; )

LOVE this one. Just look at Kristine’s eyes!! Enough said.

Erik captured this one – I really like the angle and the way Kristine is looking at Maciej.

I realize this one isn’t focused on their faces – not intentionally. It’s a happy accident. Love the mood of it.

Erik captured this one of me hiding in the brush…

To capture this moment ; )

Love these next two that Erik captured – do these make you smile or what??

Some more activity to warm up!

These next few are my favorites. Those smiles!!

This one needs to enlarged and hung somewhere ; )

They made a Thank You sign for their Save the Dates.

Erik rocked this silhouette! The sky was amazing!

So we had to shoot more near the beach and the sunset.

Seriously guys – you are just too cute together.

This shot is kind of random but I absolutely LOVE the moment here…a candid, relaxed moment. Love the expressions on their faces.

Kristine & Maciej we had an awesome time with you both!! We are SO looking forward to your wedding! Hope you have Happy Holidays!

Love,
Vicki & Erik

Christine + Thomas – Westport, CT Engagement Session Photos

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Erik & I met Thomas and Christine a little while ago in a noisy Starbucks. Within a few minutes of chatting Erik & I felt a strong connection and we knew that they are one of those couples that we would love to spend time with. Christine is my favorite kind of woman – intelligent, charming, and warm. And Thomas is the same – with a knack for making Christine laugh. We were so excited to meet up with them on Sunday morning at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport. It was extremely windy and cold, and we tried starting off at the beach, but we weren’t there very long before heading up to the wooded areas for some relief from the icy wind.

Christine has a gorgeous smile!

We found one tree with yellow leaves that hadn’t fallen yet.

Thomas is a funny guy ; )

This one makes me smile.

The ring!

Dip.

Erik’s Favorite:

For those who have spent time with us, you KNOW how clumsy I am. Right before taking this shot I was up close to Thomas and Christine. I decided I wanted to get a wide shot so I was walking backwards while looking through my viewfinder and tripped over our camera bags. I got some height! Thank goodness my rear has some cushion. At least I gave Thomas and Christine a good laugh (and Erik & myself as well). And, well, I got this shot!

I love how Christine’s hair is blowing in this one.

Christine & Thomas really wanted some beach shots, and luckily the wind died down enough for us to tolerate.

They are too cute!

I mean seriously! They just fit so well!

My favorite:

The ring again (it is a pretty one!)

The rare occasions they weren’t laughing:

My other favorite!

Christine & Thomas thank you so much for bearing with us during the cold and wind! You were both amazing. Erik and I had so much fun with you both and we can’t wait for your big day!!
