Allison + Rob – The Candlewood Inn, Brookfield, CT Wedding
May 23rd, 2009Allison & Rob are two warm, friendly, caring people that are blessed with great family and friends. It was a day we were greatly anticipating since their engagement session – Allison is a classic beauty with an extraordinary smile that we couldn’t wait to get back in front of the camera, and Rob is a handsome devil And once again, it was supposed to rain, but Erik and I brought along our steadfast luck, and the day proceeded with nary a drop in sight. Without further adieu, let the day begin!
Venue: The Candlewood Inn, Brookfield, CT
Florist: Designs by Nancy, Danbury, CT
DJ: Dance to the Music, Norwalk, CT
Erik captured this cool shot of Rob while he was getting ready.
Allison getting her hair done.
There is that extraordinary smile we were talking about!
Allison’s beautiful wedding dress was hanging from these pretty wood panels and it made for a great shot.
We love the details on her shoes!
And her flowers were beautiful as well.
Mirrors, in case you didn’t know, are one of our favorite things to work with. Any chance we can get to incorporate them into a shot, we take, and this was no exception. Allison was so thoughtful she even helped out with her bridesmaids hair that day!
Allison’s mother’s hands can be seen here putting the finishing touches on her daughter’s wedding dress.
One of our absolute favorites of the day. Isn’t she STUNNING??
One of the flower girls checking herself out in the mirror.
Rob finally seeing his gorgeous bride to be for the first time!
A proud father walking his ecstatic daughter down the aisle.
Every time we see this picture it warms us up inside
Simply adorable. Rob carefully wiping a tear from Allison’s cheek.
The rings.
And finally the kiss! We love the just visible smile on the minister’s face behind them.
Such a great moment, one that makes us smile while we are writing this. We are truly blessed to be able to do what we do for a living.
Walking down the the water for one of our favorite parts of the day!
We love Allison’s veil and the way they are standing with one another. A classic shot.
Oh that veil!
The Candlewood has such an amazing view over the lake, and the light from the setting sun made these shots even more dramatic.
Another great moment.
Seriously, look at that light! And Allison & Rob look pretty incredible too, don’t you think?
Some of the great details from the day.
We loved the colorful display at the bar as well.
The first dance as husband and wife. The way that they are looking at each other speaks volumes!
Fun, fun fun!
Another one of our favorites from the day.
Allison and her father dancing the night away.
Followed by Rob and his mother to close the night.
Allison & Rob, thank you again for allowing us to be there with you on your wedding day! Erik and I had a fantastic time laughing with you, and your family and friends all day. We hope you are having an incredible time on your honeymoon, and we know this day was only the beginning of a long and happy life together.
xoxo Vicki and Erik.

Love this post! That first shot of the groom getting ready is killer. And the moment you caught of him wiping away the tear on her cheek?! Insane. A once-in-a-lifetime shot and you nailed it! Lots of great images, here.

I forgot to mention this is now the second wedding that I have been to that you were shooting, and as predicted this time we were to get horible rain (i.e. Michele and Valon’s Wedding). Somehow you have the luck to push it away. I am passing your name to all my friends who are getting married. You all have some luck…

The ceremony picture of the bride’s face is uniquely beautiful. I also especially like the portrait of the flower girl with the mirror.
